For each of his projects, visual artist Li Xiaofei conducts extensive interviews over
the years and transforms the footage into a poetic and reflective cinematic
experience. This lecture centers on argentum, a symbol, on the one hand, of
reflection and crystallization of changes and, on the other, of fluidity and
transformation in the process. Screening of films from Li’s three acclaimed series (I
am the People, The Assembly Line, and Field Recordings) will be followed by an
online discussion with the artist. Questions and comments from the audience are
welcome.
